Allstar, one of the UK’s leading electric vehicle (EV), fuel and business expense payment companies, today announces it is providing access to public EV charging via its Allstar Co-Pilot app, a digital alternative to tapping a card to make a payment.

EV drivers are faced with navigating a complex, new and constantly evolving landscape, from the latest regulations to knowing where the next charge point might be, what is suitable for their vehicle, or how they make a payment. Allstar Co-Pilot works to help shoulder the burden providing on-the-go support and enhancing convenience for Allstar Chargepass customers.

Allstar Chargepass customers can register their card in the app to seamlessly pay for charging at the majority of charge points on the Allstar network directly through the app. They can also now easily locate nearby EV charge points and receive real-time information about their availability.

For those managing more than one type of vehicle, whether EV or traditional fuel, businesses and drivers can use a single app that will show them all their Allstar accepting sites across the country. As with the full range from Allstar, any charging paid for through the app will be consolidated into a HMRC-compliant invoice.

Ashley Tate, MD, Allstar Chargepass UK, commented: “It’s our goal to make journeys as smooth and seamless as possible for our EV drivers. As such, upgrading the existing Allstar Co-Pilot app so customers can pay at more than 90% of charge points across our electric charging network while benefiting from its features and functionality only made sense.”

He added: “Payments is a constantly evolving space with new technologies emerging all the time, and the way people are making payments is changing too. That’s why it was important to provide alternative payment methods with the additional functionalities that the revamped Allstar Co-Pilot app offers.”

Paul Holland, MD UK Fleet, Corpay, including UK brand Allstar, said:“While many businesses are in their transition to EV, there are some that are yet to begin but the collective understanding is that it is the present and future of motoring. We have long held a reputation as providing an exceptional service for fuel customers and we are pleased to echo this with the Allstar Co-Pilot app for EV drivers. It is able to support them wherever they are up to, if they have full EV, partial or are still entirely traditionally fuelled, and will continue to provide for them for years to come.”
