RTGS.global and MAGMA Finance have announced a strategic partnership during the Fintech Conference: Payments, FX and Digital Assets, held at the InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava.

Organised by MAGMA Finance, the conference brought together more than 100 senior professionals from the financial services, fintech and international business sectors to discuss the future of cross-border payments, FX markets and digital assets, with a focus on Mauritius’ growing role as a financial gateway between Africa and global markets.

Participants included policymakers, financial institutions and fintech leaders. The event was attended by Dhaneshwar Damry, Junior Minister of Finance of Mauritius, and featured keynote insights from Zdeněk Tůma.

During the main panel discussion, Tomas Pithart, Expert Advisor to the Board of Directors of RTGS.global, joined industry experts to examine structural challenges in cross-border payments, the practical impact of AI and machine learning in payment processing, and regulatory developments shaping financial infrastructure.

“Cross-border payments remain constrained by fragmented infrastructure and legacy processes,” said Pithart. “Partnerships like this help bring together institutions and technology providers to build faster, more transparent and resilient settlement networks.”

At the conclusion of the panel session, RTGS.global and MAGMA Finance formalised their partnership through a ceremonial agreement signing. The agreement was signed by Tomas Pithart and Varun Narain, Director of MAGMA Finance, confirming MAGMA’s participation in the RTGS.global network of banks and financial institutions.

“MAGMA Finance is focused on enabling efficient cross-border financial services for international businesses,” said Narain. “Joining the RTGS.global network supports our commitment to expanding innovative and reliable payment solutions across regions.”

The conference covered a range of topics including cross-border payments across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia, the role of AI in payments, regulatory challenges in fintech and the evolving role of digital assets.

MAGMA Finance plans to host its third Fintech Conference later this year to continue fostering dialogue between regulators, financial institutions and fintech innovators.
